National Arts Council - Scholarships and Bursaries

Who May Apply
All applicants must be Singapore citizens or Singapore permanent residents with a good track record in the arts. Applicants awaiting admission to their proposed institution may still apply for a scholarship or bursary. However, proof of admission into the institution must be produced at the time of the scheduled interview or upon award of the scholarship or bursary, if successful. Applicants who have already received four years of support from the Council for their undergraduate or postgraduate studies in the arts are not eligible to apply.

Employees of ministries, statutory boards, government-related agencies and academic institutions are also not eligible to apply. These include Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Singapore Chinese Orchestra, The Esplanade Co Ltd and the National Arts Council. Other conditions may apply. Please check with Capability Development Managers before applying.

* Special note for students who intend to pursue studies in Australia:
Students who are interested to pursue studies in Australia (for February/ March intake) should check with Capability Development Managers before applying.

* Special note on course commencement date and scholarship application timing :All scholarships and bursaries will be awarded in August. Students who are interested to pursue studies that commence in February/March (eg. Australian courses) should make their applications a year before the commencement of the course. Students who are interested to pursue studies that commence in June/July (eg. NAFA and Lasalle-SIA courses) are advised to concurrently apply for the intended course as well as the bursary. Students should be prepared to begin studies pending confirmed financial assistance from NAC.
