MPA Scholarship

Interested in a maritime career?

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) awards scholarships to:

1. Students planning to do an undergraduate degree course in either overseas or local university;
2. Undergraduates; and
3. Diploma holders with outstanding results in Maritime Transportation Management or Nautical Studies will also be considered for studies in maritime-related disciplines.

SIM International Scholarship

SIM Scholarship for International Students
International students enrolling for fulltime studies at diploma and undergraduate levels in SIM may apply for merit-based scholarship awards. Awards are granted to outstanding students who have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence and leadership both in and outside the classroom.

Application
There are two exercises in a year:

1. March-April for admission to programmes commencing in the second half of the current year.
2. October-November for admission to programmes commencing in the first half of the following year.

National Infocomm Scholarship

This Scholarship is offered by IDA, Singapore. If your interest is in the area of infocomm and meet the following requirements you may want to try and apply

Full Scholarship
- Be a Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident (Foreigners may apply but are required to become a Singapore Permanent Resident if selected)
- Possess outstanding 'A' Level or Polytechnic results
- Have a good Co-Curricular Activities record
- Possess a strong interest in a career in the infocomm industry

Partial Scholarship
- Be a Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident (Foreigners may apply but are required to become a Singapore Permanent Resident if selected and male applicant must have completed NS)
- Be an undergraduate pursuing an infocomm-related degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, or a hybrid combination of Information Technology and another non-infocomm subject at NTU, NUS or SMU and advancing to your final year of studies in academic year 2006/07
- Possess outstanding semester results
- Have a good Co-Curricular Activities record

Teaching Scholarships and Awards

Since 2002, the Ministry of Education (MOE) has been taking greater ownership in the selection, management and development of our teaching scholars. In August 2002, we announced a new undergraduate teaching scholarship and award structure. This will allow us to continue attracting a steady stream of talented and dedicated young individuals into the Education Service each year.


Scholarship Applications
The 2007 PSC and MOE Undergraduate Teaching Scholarships applications will open from 1 September 2006 to 10 days after the release of the GCE 'A' level results in 2007. Please log on to http://www1.pscgateway.gov.sg/inter/index.jsp to submit your application, and indicate 'Teaching' as your choice of service.

Teaching Award Applications
For fresh 'A' Levels Graduates, Diploma Graduates, Year 1 & 2 Local Undergraduates: The MOE Teaching Award application will open from late January 2007 to 10 days after the release of GCE 'A' Level results in 2007.

For Year 3 Undergraduates proceeding for Honours in AY 2007/2008, Honours or Master's graduates: The MOE Teaching Award application will open from late January 2007 to late February 2007.

The specific application dates will be announced in January 2007.

A*STAR International Graduate Scholarships (IGS) Singapore.

The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), in collaboration with the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), is pleased to introduce the International Graduate Scholarships (IGS) programme. Under this scheme, outstanding undergraduate students from Iranian universities can undertake graduate studies at the Master's level at NUS, NTU and their partner institutions. PhD level studies may be tenable upon completion and distinction in the Master's programme.

Postgraduate Scholarship - Tan Kah Kee

Tan Kah Kee Postgraduate Scholarship

In commemoration of the invaluable contributions made by the late philanthropist Mr Tan Kah Kee, in the field of education, the Tan Kah Kee Foundation has been awarding Postgraduate Scholarship since 1983.

The scholarships are open to Singapore citizens and permanent residents who are pursuing full-time Master degree or PhD in any discipline, regardless of race or religion. Candidates are appraised on their academic achievements, outstanding personal character and bilingual capabilities. The scholarship will be awarded annually and is bond-free.

In line with the spirit of the late Mr Tan Kah Kee's unfailing community commitment, the importance of contribution to the community cannot be over-emphasized. Not only should the recipients of the award excel in their field of study, but also they should concern for their countrymen and the willingness to serve the community.

Many past award recipients are now back in Singapore and working in universities and various research institutes, as well as in private and public sectors in Singapore, actively contributing to the development of the nation.

The application is open in May every year. Shortlisted applicants will be informed to attend an interview in the month of June or July. Scholarship amount for those studying in overseas or local universities are S$10,000 & S$7,000 respectively.

President's Scholarship

Overview

The President's Scholarship is the most prestigious scholarship in Singapore. Scholarships are awarded annually to students who have demonstrated, beyond academic ability and excellence in co-curricular activities, to be individuals who display a strong ethos of public service, who possess an unwavering dedication to improving the lives of Singaporeans, and who have shown a soundness of character and the potential to lead. Candidates shortlisted for the President’s Scholarship are interviewed by a Selection Committee chaired by Chairman, PSC. Other members of the Selection Committee include PSC Members, as well as representatives from local universities. President’s Scholars represent the cream of the crop and the leaders amongst his or her cohort. To date, we have more than 200 President’s Scholars.

President's Scholarships are generally awarded concurrently with another PSC Scholarship:

i) the SAF Overseas Scholarship,
ii) the SPF Overseas Scholarship, or
iii) the Overseas Merit Scholarship / Local-Overseas Merit Scholarship.
